More Simple Stamping

Silhouette stamps are some of my favorite types of images for bold, simple designs. I shared a couple examples in my last post, and today I have another pair to share featuring our new Wild Flowers stamp set. I used the same color combo of Distress Inks on both – listed in the supplies below – but changed up the design just a little.

For the first card, I went with straight stamping. I stamped several of the images in a cluster onto a card panel. I didn’t worry about masking and allowed the images to overlap.

I add the sentiment, also included in the set, in black in the lower corner. I love the simplicity of this card. The imagery and bold color combo really carries it. I matted my panel with a complimentary colored cardstock and then popped it up with foam squares on a standard A2 card base.

For the next card, I used the same stamps and ink. This time I stamped the images from edge to edge across a panel. But, before stamping, I spritz the inked stamp with water. I didn’t use watercolor cardstock, just plain Neenah, and I do like the texture this gave the images. It’s such a small amount of water that you can get away with using regular cardstock.

Again, I allowed the images to overlap. So fun! I trimmed a small piece off of the bottom edge, backed the panel with coordinating color cardstock and then replaced the cut portion, leaving a gap of color to show behind. Again, I stamped the sentiment in black, matted it, and adhered using foam squares.

I hope you enjoyed these simple, yet fun designs. Thanks for dropping in!
