Won’t You Be My Neighbor

We’ve got another set perfect for showing a little love to our neighbors, both past and present. We recently released a couple of sets in a similar vein – Welcome Wreath and New Home. But this set is a little different, smaller in scale and filled with outlined images perfect for coloring.

This is such a versatile set. The images are cleanly illustrated with just enough detail that a simple wash of color can really bring them to life, but not so much that the images are tedious to color.

Of course, for my first card, I wanted to do some coloring. I started by stamping all of my images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto white cardstock. I used Copic markers to color in my images, keeping it pretty simple, usually just 2 colors, three at the most. I’m not going to list the colors I used in this post, just have fun exploring and trying different colors, you’ll be surprised at how much fun it is. Even if you wouldn’t ever paint your actual house bright peach and teal…you can on a card!

There are 3 different houses included in the set, but, you can also create even more, like I did here. I colored and cut out two of the houses using the companion die and then layered them together to look like one house.

I made sure to include some “thank you” type sentiments in this set. I don’t know about you, but as neighbors we tend to “look out” for each other, especially when one is away. Things like collecting the mail/deliveries, taking out the trash/recycling, etc. So there are a couple of sentiments that are perfect for this.

This is also a great set for sending a little “hello” to those neighbors who move away, but you still keep in touch with.

For this card, I left everything uncolored, except the house. I think it highlighted the sentiment perfectly. I heat embossed “I Miss You” in white onto red cardstock to match the red front door. I wanted to keep the rest of the card super clean and just popped the panel, die cut with the 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles Die, up with foam tape on the card base.

I stamped another message on the inside. Any of the sub-sentiments in this set are perfect for finishing the interior of your cards. Just stamp the larger focal sentiment on the front, and then choose the appropriate sentiment for the inside.

I will be using this set again soon, so be sure to check back. I just checked the store and it does look like you all love this set as much as I do as it is currently sold out. But don’t worry, we do have a restock order on the way. You can sign up to be notified by email as soon as it arrives on the product page.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back soon!
