VIDEO: Create Multiple Cards Using Vignettes or Mini-Scenes

In today’s video we’re taking the pressure off of creating scene cards! One of my favorite design techniques is utilizing vignettes. Vignettes are small groups of complementary objects placed together to create a focal point. Think home decor – a lamp, a stack of books, and a candle – we can do the same thing in card design.

I started by stamping and coloring a bunch of the images in the Garden Gate stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps. I then used the coordinating die to cut out all of the images.

Having a stack of images to choose from makes it easy to experiment with arrangements and swap elements in and out. I choose to make the cute little bunnies my main focal image and used the rest of the pieces to build a little mini-scene around them.

To ground and group each design, I added a little bit of ink blending to the background.

I matched each card base to corresponding color I used to ink blend the background. I just love how these turned out!

And, I have lots of images left over and can create a few more cards to round out this set!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed today’s video.
