Rainbow Encouragement w/Kelly

Hello Crafters! I’m always all about encouragement and for sure all about the rainbows. We had a gorgeous sunny 75 degree day yesterday, and I’m ready for summer to come. Today’s card reflects that 100%!

I started by tracing my hexagon die to get an idea where my background should be. I used copic markers to create my window but you can use whatever medium you like. I love me a good rainbow, but this card would look great with a background of clouds and blue skies or some green hills too!

If you’re interested in giving it a try with copic markers don’t get discouraged. I had to go over the colors a few times before they really blended in a way I was happy with.

Once the background was done I die cut my card front using the same hexagon die I had previously traced. I also cut a few of the clouds out of more white card stock. (You can find all of the supplies I used listed at the end of this post.)

I stamped out my balloon and giraffe with copic safe ink and then got started coloring. I chose the purple balloon because it’s yellow’s complimentary color but I’m pretty sure you could get away with almost any rainbow color here.

Even though the design is really clean I like how much interest the dimension achieved by using foam adhesive to pop things up adds. This element alone gives the card a bit of pop without having to sacrifice the cleaner look I love.

Thank you so much for joining me!
