Pinkfresh “Gentle Greetings & Greenery” Release Blog Hop

Hello! It’s Release Day over at Pinkfresh Studio, and that means it’s time for a blog hop. So be sure to hop along and enter along the way for chances to win lots of goodies!

When I flipped through this release, there were two items that jumped straight on to my craft desk. I really had no choice. They were like, “use me!”, who was I to argue?

I mean, would you look at that. The new Thinking of You product suite is so simple, yet SO impactful! I opted to skip using any outlines for my floral image and went straight for the Thinking of You stencil. The stencil in this suite can be used all on its own, and I just love that! It really allows the subtle color blends to shine.

I stenciled the generously sized stem of florals three times, coloring one in blues, one in yellows, and the last in purples. For the blues I used Slumber and Storm, for the yellows – Lemon Whip, Sweet Mustard, and just a bit of Mimosa for a little depth. And for the purples I chose Sheer Freesia, Candy Violet, and a bit of Regal Kiss. For the stems and leaves, I went with Bay Leaf and Olive. I know it’s December, but these colors are making me yearn for Spring already!

I used the coordinating dies to cut out my stenciled florals and created a not-so-little bouquet for my card front. These are a great scale for making quick work of a design, and the larger scale works beautifully with the new Basic Sentiments. I used the Basic Sentiments Die to cut “Hugs” from paper that I ink blended to match using Sweet Mustard ink, and then used the shadow die in white to help it stand out from my colorful blooms. For the rest of the sentiment, I used the Thinking of You stamp set and stamped “You are not alone” directly on my card base in Metropolis ink. I wanted that part of the sentiment to be a gentle reminder, and using the gray ink for my stamping accomplished that perfectly.

To finish off my card, I ink blended my background with a very light wash of Slumber. Finally, I added a few strips of “lace” cut using the Fancy Edgers die from the last release to the right side of the card behind the florals. I told you I really love those Fancy Edgers. 😍
