Pinkfresh “Essentials” Release Blog Hop

Hello friends! Today I’m joining Pinkfresh Studio to celebrate their newest release. This release is all about the essentials. Essential – or basic – dies are some of the most used dies in my stash (right behind florals!).

For today’s hop, I’m sharing a closer look at several of the new Essential products and how they can be anything but basic. Both cards feature the new Fancy Edgers Die used to create a colorful and texture rich background.

I started by cutting several strips of cardstock and ink blending them in six yummy sherbert-y shades. I used Peony, Passion Fruit, Mango Sorbet, Apricot, Sunshine, and Grassy Knoll. I then cut one of the six edge designs from each color and arranged them in “rainbow” order across my background. To break up the color a bit, I slipped in a white one every so often.

I paired the new Nested Elongated Ovals Blanket Stitched Die with the previously released Nested Elongated Ovals Die to create a backdrop for my focal point. I wanted to keep it pretty clean and focused, and the Stylized Florals Stencil and Die were the perfect fit. I used the same colors that I used for my background so they would not compete with those lovely lacy edge details.

I loved how it turned out so much, that I decided to create another card with the left over pieces that I had.

I had enough left over trim pieces to create a center strip across my background and another full floral arrangement. So for this card I opted for lots of white space with pops of color. And this time, I used the new Nested Rectangle Postage Edge Die paired with the Nested Rectangle Diagonal Stitch Die to frame my focal point and sentiment. I used the Artistic Magnolias stamp and die for the sentiments on both of my cards.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today! But, there is still lot’s more inspiration to be found – make sure to hop along to see it all and enter to win!
