More Fun with Spellbinders and Wplus9

I wanted to pop in and share a couple more cards featuring the Spellbinders dies from the other day. In the last post, I shared how to create background patterns using the floral dies from the Typing Class and Post and Parcel Mailbox dies. This time, I’ve paired them with some of my favorite dies from Wplus9 to create gorgeous colorful focal points.

Again, I used a ton of cardstock from Concord and 9th, colors will be linked at the end of this post. I die cut lots of the florals from the Parcel and Post Mailbox for this first card and used liquid adhesive to assemble them. I cut the Lots of Love Background die from Midnight cardstock twice and adhered them one on top of the other for some subtle tone-on-tone texture in the background.

For the sentiment, I used the Lots of Love die. I knew the large scale of this sentiment would be perfect to stand out against those larger florals. And of course, I just couldn’t resist adding the Sweet Birdie die as an accent.

For the next two cards, I wanted to share the florals from the Typing Class Die. I kept the same basic concept, just swapping the flowers. I do love the more tropical vibe of these florals, and so I chose a very bold and vibrant color palette to match. A couple of these colors were pulled from my stash, so I’m not sure exact brands, I’m sorry. But, my best guess would be Gina K. for the florescent coral and purple.

This time, I used the Lots of Love Background Die to emboss the background instead of cutting it. I felt like the white would provide a little relief for the eye while allowing the colors to pop. Another bird was added, this time using the Little Chickadee die. I’m telling you, I can’t get enough of these little guys! For the sentiment, I used the A Little Note stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps. I like the slight curve on these sentiments, and feel like the fit so well within the flow of the florals.

As I’ve mentioned before, I like to push myself outside of my creative comfort zone. So I decided to create another version of the last card, but on a colored card base!

If you’ve been here awhile, you know that this is a rare sight. I do like how it came out, but it was super hard for me not chicken out and use a white card base! LOL Again, I used the A Little Note stamp set for my sub-sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed today’s cards. As always, I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I love these cards-the lots of love sentiment is the focal point-I have been unable to find the sentiment. So sad your shop is no longer available. Could you make a suggested substitute?

When I first saw this post, I just about died! I made one with a very similar navy background for my husband. Is is true what they say about great minds? Haha!
