Hand Painted Autumn Blessings
Mother Nature really shows her brilliance in Autumn. The bold, rich color palettes that come with this season are breathtaking and full of inspiration!
I decided to pull out our Autumn Blessings stamps and dies and paint a bunch of the images using Holbein Gouache. The vibrancy of color you can achieve with gouache is unparalleled.
I started by stamping the images on hot pressed watercolor paper with GinaK Designs Amalgam Ink in Whisper. I then painted the images and die cut them using the companion dies.
I backed the wreath and banner with a woodgrain panel. I used our Wood Planks stamp set in Warm Wool Ink to create a rustic subtle backdrop.
I heat embossed my sentiment onto the banner in white and added a few clear dew drops and metallic crystals from Pretty Pink Posh.
I ended up painting quite a few of the images from this set. So I had plenty to make a couple more cards. For the next card, I used all of the same supplies.
This time I created a spray of sunflowers and leaves for the center of my card. Again, I turned to a subtle woodgrain background. This time, I inked only portions of the stamp to created a more distressed and uneven background, focusing the heaviest pattern behind the florals and fading out towards the edges of the panel.
If you’d like to find out more about these cards and see how they are made, be sure to join our Facebook Group – Wplus9 Encourage Creativity Community. I am doing Lives every Tuesday and Thursday night. Sometimes we focus on techniques, sometimes products and sometimes we just explore, craft and chat. But we always have fun!
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope your week is off to a great start!

Dawn, your painting is just breathtaking! Mother Nature would give you a big hug if she could because your fall colors are gorgeous. Being a Floridian we don’t have a “fall” season where I live so your designs are a real treat! Thanks for sharing your amazing cards- guess I’ll go and rake my pine cones & needles now. Lol. 😊🍁
