Get More From Your Layering Stencils

Hello Friends! At first glance, a prefab pattern seems pretty limiting. The pattern has already been created. What else can you do with it? Well today, I’ll show you how to look at a pattern in a whole new way! In the video below I’m sharing how I created 3 unique patterns from one layering stencil.

The new Folk Art Daisy layering stencil from Honey Bee Stamps creates this gorgeous multi-color pattern. And I do love it, but I’m not a fan of investing in a “one trick pony”, so I challenged myself to come up with at least 3 unique patterns from this one stencil. There are several more to be created, but this should flex your creative muscles and get you started! As always, all of the supplies will be linked in the video description, as well as at the end of this blog post.

In the video I also shared a fun way to add some subtle sparkle to your cards using a Gelly Roll Glitter Pen. Shimmer is always hard to capture on camera, but here’s a close up of that sparkle.

I had so much fun playing around with creating different patterns! To keep these simple, I created them all in the same color palette and used the Big Time Kindness stamp and die for all of them.

The ink blending was all done with Concord & 9th inks and the Rabbit Hole Designs Cottontail Blending Brushes.

For accents and embellishments, I went with Spellbinder’s Gold Mirror Cardstock and Honey Bee Stamps Gems and Pearls.
