Guest Artist Feature: Nichol Spohr

Hello! Nichol here today with a couple of New Home scene cards colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The New Home stamps and dies are perfect for creating all kinds of amazing scene cards. Let’s get started!

I’m a big fan of scene cards and knew that I wanted to create some home scenes with the New Home stamp set and coordinating dies. The siding for each card was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink on Bristol Smooth Cardstock. One card was stamped in portrait and one in landscape.

Nichol Spohr for Wplus9. Featured Products: New Home stamps and dies, Welcome Wreath stamp set and Welcome Die.

First, we’ll take a look at the portrait style card. The images were all stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and colored in with the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers:

  • Door/Frame: 090 Gray, 091 Light Gray, 999 Blender, 302 Haze Blue
  • Planters: 035 Deep Blue, 303 Shadow Mauve, 038 Peacock Blue, 033 Persian Green
  • Plants: 043 Olive Green, 046 Mid Green, 260 Deep Red, 080 Violet, 081 Light Violet
  • Light: 090 Gray, 091 Light Gray
  • Wreath: 043 Olive Green, 046 Mid Green
  • Doormat: 065 Mid Brown, 072 Beige

After the images were die cut with the coordinating dies they were adhered to the background “house” as shown. Some of the elements were adhered with foam adhesive for additional dimension. Glossy Accents was applied to the windows and light to simulate the shine of glass and metal.

A sentiment from the New Home stamp set was stamped on the doormat with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Another sentiment from the same set, was stamped along the bottom edge of the card with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

Additional sentiments were stamped inside the card to finish the design.

A landscape style card gives me a bit more room to really build up my porch scene. Again, all of the images were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and colored in with the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers:

  • Door/Frame: 035 Deep Blue, 303 Shadow Mauve, 072 Beige, 076 Medium Beige, 999 Blender, 302 Haze Blue
  • Planters: 260 Deep Red, 230 Pale Rose, 072 Beige, 076 Medium Beige, 999 Blender
  • Plants: 043 Olive Green, 046 Mid Green, 260 Deep Red, 080 Violet, 081 Light Violet, 052 Bright Yellow, 050 Yellow
  • Lights: 090 Gray, 091 Light GrayDoormat: 035 Deep Blue, 303 Shadow Mauve, 999 Blender

After the images were die cut with the coordinating dies they were adhered to the background “house” as shown. Some of the elements were adhered with foam adhesive for additional dimension. Again, I chose to add Glossy Accents to the windows and lights.

A sentiment from the New Home stamp set was stamped on the doormat with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The “thanks” from the new Welcome Die was die cut from white cardstock adhered to Fun Foam Stick it Adhesive. The sentiment was inked with Fired Brick Distress Ink and adhered to the design as shown. To help it pop just a bit more, I covered it with Glossy Accents, separating it from the background and making it really stand out. An additional sentiment from the Welcome Wreath stamp set was stamped on black cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being trimmed into a thin strip and adhered under the die cut greeting.

The Welcome Wreath stamp set is not only a wonderful set on it’s own, but pairs up perfectly with the New Home stamp set as well!

Very cute cards. Nichol, you have so much talent. Your light shines no matter who the company and no matter the theme. Bravo.
@WPlus9 I like this stamp set and when I tried to find it none with links in this post and the link to the stamp set. Instead they go to a 404 page. Just wanted to let you know.
    Have a great day.
