Clean and Simple Christmas Cards that WOW!
Today I’ve got two more cards to share with you featuring our Winter Silhouette and Joyful Poinsettia stamp sets. These are much more modern and clean and simple in design than my last post. So if CAS is your jam, you might really enjoy these!
First up, I decided to go with watercolor stamping again. Watercolor stamping can definitely be utilized in a clean and simple design. I inked up the Winter Silhouette stamp using Distress Oxide ink and sponge daubers. I used the daubers to pick up color from the ink pad and then dabbed it onto the stamp selectively where I wanted each color. I used Candied Apple and Rustic Wilderness. I sprayed the stamp two or three times using the Distress Sprayer and then stamped. You can see where the red and green mixed and created brown. This worked in my favor as there are some pined cones in the image as well.
All this needed now was a simple sentiment. I stamped one from our Joyful Poinsettia set in Candied Apple Oxide ink and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. If you work quickly, you can apply the powder directly to the oxide ink and skip using Versamark. I matted it with another panel that I gold heat embossed the edges of. Done. Short and sweet!
Next up, another very minimalist design. This time I chose to use the silhouette image as a very faint background.
I stamped it in Gina K. Designs Whisper Amalgam ink across the bottom of a panel. I used the same sentiment as the last card, stamping it in Walnut Stain Oxide ink this time and again, clear heat embossing it. I added a little stamped and die cut image from our Bells and Bows set for a pop of color, along with a bit of twine for texture. Easy, peasy.
I hope that you enjoyed today’s cards. I know that sometimes we need some quick and easy designs for those last minute makers. Or perhaps you just prefer the elegance of a clean and simple design? Either way, I think these fit the bill perfectly!

Oh wow–absolutely love these! The first one especially inspires me! I’ve done watercolor stamping, but never thought to use my DO inks to do it.
