Grateful for the Little Things

Sorry for the interruption there. I had a few things to work on for the Online Card Classes Spring Card Camp. If you haven’t heard, they have a new class going on right now that is 20 days long with a new video every day! The focus is to use what you have and really stretch those supplies with suggestions on how to look at them in new ways. What great motivation to take a few minutes for yourselves each day!

Today’s card is a rather simple one, but still colorful and elegant. It’s pretty straight forward in design and execution. As I mentioned in a previous post, I took an evening to stamp and die cut lots of elements from our new release. So I had a lot of pieces to play around with and make arrangements.

Here I paired the birdhouse and flowers from The Little Things with a sentiment from Together. I used a mixture of Wplus9 Inks and Distress Oxide inks for my stamp layering, using a sponge to apply the Distress Oxides to my stamps. This method is perfect for creating a distressed look for the birdhouse and bucket.

I added a few florals stamped directly on my card panel and then layered my die cuts on top. I do this often to create a little depth and added interest.

I wanted to add some texture to the background, but didn’t necessarily want to add another layer. So I used the inner label from the Lavinia Layers Background Die to emboss instead of cut. I really can’t seem to get enough of this technique lately. Plus it’s a great way to get more mileage out of those dies!

I want to thank you for joining me today. And to those of you that are still able to shop and support Wplus9, it is appreciated more than you can ever know. But please, only shop if you can afford to right now. It is so much more important to me that you are taken care of and staying safe.

Also, as I’ve mentioned on Facebook, all of our manufacturing is done in the United States. And with the current stay-at-home orders and non-essential business closings we are unable to produce new or restock. Thank you so much for your time and understanding!
